Video 7 – Lake Eyre Trip – St George to Caboolture
Four Caboolture based aircraft recently recently travelled from Caboolture to Lake Eyre via Birdsville and then back to Caboolture via Leigh Creek. The trip lasted over 4 days which included approximately 13 hours of flying time for the faster aircraft.
The gaggle comprised an RV9a, a Wittman Tailwind W10, a Sling Highwing and a Jabiru 230.
The reason for sharing these videos is to expressly share the stunning topography of the route, which was most amazing on the legs from Charleville around Lake-Eyre to White Cliffs via William Creek, Marree Man and Leigh Creek.
Although we flew many miles desert country, the scenery changed every 10 minutes to something totally unexpected and completely new. The rains over the last year have breathtakingly transformed the desert into an unexpected aray of flora and water channels as far as the eye can see.
I made a video for each leg so that you may enjoy each leg separately as you whish. Please keep in mind that these are not professional in any way
Thank you for your interest.
